Quickie: Chicago & Persepolis

Ddi you hear that silly thing the evil overloards of the public schools in Chicago did late last week? Banning Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel Persepolis.

I’m sure you can imagine how we here at the Shipwreck feel about banned books. (Besides which, Persepolis is a pretty darn good book!)

Anyhow, the students of Chicago’s public schools aren’t taking it sitting down. In fact, they were rather quick to stand up and mobilize. At this very moment, there’s a bit of a thing going on at lane Tech, which you can follow on Twitter through #FreePersepolis or through @Zinc323. I’m sure there are others, but I want to get this post up ASAP.
