"More than machinery, we need humanity."

Allies

My fellow captain and I had some face time (no, not that thing that you can do with iPhones) recently, and, in between talking about what the hell we’re doing on this boat, reflected upon the many different left-of-center librarian groups and events in our fair city.  And we kind of thought that, while it’s great to have so many, maybe they should be in closer contact with each other, especially those which are politically minded.  Strength in numbers, efficiency, all that.  So, here’s a list, probably incomplete, of such groups in NYC (though, I admit that some of these are general librarian things; maybe it’s just that librarians tend to be left of center?).  Folks who live elsewhere — are there any similar groups where you are?
